This is Jacob Berger and his chicken, Pistol.
Jacob is 7 years old and had been asking for a puppy for his birthday.
We told him if he could take care of the chickens then we would consider it.
Jacob not only feeds and waters his 12 chickens daily, but also loves on them constantly, holding them and, sometimes, bringing them in the house to watch cartoons.
Pistol is his favorite.
I will often find him walking around with Pistol happily under his arm or him holding her like a baby.
I am nominating Pistol for the Pet of the Week because she is not an ordinary chicken and Jacob is not an ordinary pet owner, he’s a chicken whisperer.
It may be time for him to get a puppy!
