Elias Hidalgo
Elias has worked at the same local tire shop since graduating high school. He works 6 days a week and has spent years building a reputation as someone his manager can rely on. He takes a lot of pride in his work, and his dedication is something I genuinely admire about him.
But what makes Elias truly deserving of this recognition goes far beyond his job. He is an incredible dad to his son, Benjamin. He is intentional with the time he has with him, always making sure Benjamin feels loved, valued, and important. He is an amazing son and brother as well, and he has a way of always putting the people he loves before himself.
Since getting to know Elias, I’ve gotten to see just how naturally caring and selfless he is. Even after working a long shift, he still makes time for the people he loves. He’ll come home tired and still find the energy to play with Benjamin or spend time playing with my daughter, Marisol, making her laugh and giving her his full attention. Those little moments have shown me so much about the kind of man he is.
Elias is one of those people who quietly gives so much of himself. He works hard and rarely puts himself first. He doesn’t do these things for recognition or praise; it’s simply who he is. He shows the people around him that he loves them through his actions, his time, and the way he is always willing to show up for them.
Getting to know Elias has made me appreciate that being a hard-working man isn’t just about how many hours you spend at work. It’s about the kind of person you are when you walk through the door at the end of the day, and Elias continues to give his best to the people he loves.
Elias is the kind of person who makes the people around him feel cared for without even realizing he’s doing it. He works incredibly hard, but it’s his heart and the way he shows up for the people in his life that make him so deserving of this recognition.
