My husband and I used a gift certificate that we received to go to the movies a few Saturdays ago at the Regal Theaters in Sonora.  This was a real treat for us because he has been out of work and we are still not receiving unemployment benefits. Of course one must have popcorn at the movies so as I dug through my wallet to give the hubby some cash, two 100 dollar bills that I had stashed to pay a bill tumbled out of my wallet onto the dark theater floor.  It was two days later before I discovered the money was gone and of course I was devistated!  I retraced my steps and the only thing I could come up with was it must have fallen out of my wallet at the movies but what were the chances that anybody would find two 100 dollar bills in a dark theater in this economy and turn it in?  I called the theater and spoke with a manager who excitedly informed me that the cash was turned in by one of their employees! What were the chances of that happening?  Dennis Watson is my hero! 

Regal Cinemas is lucky to have an employee with such outstanding integrity. I will never forget this experience and will always hold him dear to my heart. I assure you that good things come to those who live with such ethics and morals! By the way, the movie we went to see?  The Lucky One!  This however had nothing to do with luck and everything to do with the integrity and kindness of one man.  Thank you so much Dennis!  You are truly deserving of the goodie award!

This is Willy!! My husband brought him home to me as a surprise for our anniversary.
He is now 8 weeks old. I was looking all over for him, and finally found him in my boot. He loves to sleep there. He is the sweetest thing ever!!!

Country newcomer Cannan Smith hits the stage Saturday night of the Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee!  The minute he hit the stage at The Grand Ole Opry, girls screamed and I think a couple may have passed out!  So calling all Motherlode ladies…this is the concert to see!   Check out his new song and video CLICK HERE

The Calaveras County Fair is one of the major annual events for the Motherlode and KKBN is again proud to apart of the fun!  Bridgette and Mark Corona will be judges this year for the IDOL contest and I’ll be there Saturday night for the Cannan Smith concert.  So come out and say hello!

As the Head of the Sonora Regional Medical Centers Patient Advocate Volunteer Program, Elinore touches more lives than most, all out of love and compassion. Elinore volunteers many hours a month to ensure that our program positively affects patients at SMRC, as well as the other Volunteers that donate their time in service of patient’s needs.  Elinore is our guiding light. I know that she has inspired me to be a better less selfish person, to look outward in the service of those that need help. She gives good council and Elinore can light up a room just by entering.  Many young women would do well to use this wonderful lady as a role model of beauty poise, grace, and selfless giving. To say that she is merely good may not be enough, but Greatie award winner sounds funny.

Terry had a daycare center and when I needed someone for my son she was there. The first day I took my son there I felt like she was the nicest person I had ever met. My son loved her and would ask to go to her house every day, she taught my son who is 2 years old how to talk, count and sing his ABC’s.  She not only taught my son this stuff, she showed me how strong I could be and how things can work out, she would always make me feel like family. She had 4 other family’s that took their kids there and to ask anyone of them, they would tell you the same about her.  She’s the best daycare provider anyone could of ever have!  She became one of my good friends. She goes above and beyond she does more than is asked, and to me that says a lot!! That’s the Reason why I think this person should be nominated for the KKBN Goodie Award.

Hi my name is Kaylynn and i am in the 8th grade and i have an old track coach from 6th grade that still trains me. His name is Aaron Stafford. He coaches the 6th grade team, he finds the time to help me practice in track, and he has a job selling houses all on top of being a loving father and husband.  and When there is a track meet, he will come and help me with whatever is needed.  I would not be the track champ i am without him. I really want to thank him for all he’s done for me.  Thank you Coach Aaron!!!!!!!

Say Hello to Goat! Yes..Goat.  Here’s the story..

This is Goat, my pet jackrabbit! Goat was rescued, as a baby, just a few hours old, and has remained with us ever since! He has become a huge part of the family and just loves music! Of course, the big ears must help! Goat is such a great, little guy!  Although, it’s not recommended to have a wild animal for a pet, this was a unique situation  that will be treasured forever! Here he is posing in his spring garden!

 Julie Getter trains and owns “Care Dogs”.  Her own golden retrievers “Lakota” and “Boomer” are trained and continuously worked with by Julie to volunteer at the schools in Calaveras County.  Julie takes the dogs weekly to visit the children in our schools and comfort them at times of need.  Recently our community lost a little nine year old girl when a tree crashed into her bedroom during a recent storm. Julie took LaKota and Boomer to the school daily to comfort the kids during therapy.  She also volunteers the dogs for the fire department in Arnold in times of crisis.  Her love of animals and children especially, make her the most deserving person I know.

I would like to introduce to miss belle and miss creed. Belle has gone to two homes and never really settled in until I got her now this is her third and final home. Her  best friend is creed aka stinky kitty. I found creed a couple days before x-mas weak,starving,dirty and flea infested and very very feral. I was shocked that she came to me that rainy cold night she just had no fight in her. I took her in and told my husband keep the new laptop u got me and let me have this poor baby instead. she has never left my side. I have two other dogs and  since being raised with them she thinks she is one of them. I have never seen a cat fetch or chase its tail let alone wanna play in her drinking water. Belle  i was told never got along with cats…. but creed puts her best friend in check. I  have been having seizures for the past 5 months and the docs don’t know why and have to go back to Stanford for more testing in July. I don’t know what i would do without my two girls. They are the only two things i see when i come out of my episodes and i was told they never leave my side when i am having  my seizures. They make sure I am ok before they run off and play hide and seek and chase. I AM TRULY BLESSED.

If ever there was a true Goodie deserving of an award, he would be Mr. Michael Woicicki.  Mike served as the principal of Black Oak Elementary, Pinecrest School, and Twain Harte Middle School for a decade, prior to his retirement 3 years ago.  His passion for helping people was apparent as he worked with the families and staff of the Twain Harte Long Barn School District.

 We thought we would really miss him when he retired, but we don’t!  He retired and took one year off, but he couldn’t stay away.  Last year he returned to volunteer at THMS twice a week, every week, to help my students achieve success in math.  He’s been here twice a week ever since!  For two years now, he has volunteered 10 hours a week in my classes.  He willingly cheers and mentors students on as they practice new math concepts.  He works one-on-one with students who have missed a lesson, and he always makes us smile.  He will do anything to help a child succeed – and his love of learning is transmitted to everyone at the school.  As a teacher and then principal, he has nearly 40 years of valuable experience in education.  Mike continues to benefit the lives of the teachers and students of THMS.  He is the very definition of a great educator, and an extraordinary Goodie!

This morning when I came into work , I find these “Get Well Cards” from the kids at Lil’ Munchkin Daycare.  It made me feel great!

This is Fergie, she is a Norwich Terrier, one of my four. They are from England originally, and the smallest of the terriers. She was given back to us as a puppy, from very special people after her mother was killed by a coyote. We love you Fergalicious!!  Diane Anderson

Reason why you think this person should be nominated for the KKBN Goodie Award Jan and her husband, Jeff, moved to Angels Camp when they retired from Pleasanton, CA.  Jan immediately started volunteering at the Angels Camp Library.  She comes in with a smile on her face, and is one of those people that you never have to “find” her something to do…She is one busy lady and a real asset to the Angels Camp Library…As you know, with county budgets depleted, most libraries depend upon volunteers to get “going” and their service, hard work, sweat equity, and devotion are “Priceless”.  This is why I would like to see Jan Tozier honored as the KKBN GOODIE AWARD RECIPIENT…….
