I would like to nominate my husband, Daniel Cover, for the Hard Working Man Contest.

Daniel is not only a hard working man, he is also a hard working husband and father! We have 3 children and Daniel is a very involved dad. He likes to take our 2 boys in his roll-off truck and he has so enjoyed having a new baby girl!

Daniel works hard for us all day and still makes the time to help his family. He just finished helping his parents on their addition to their house and his in-laws with their playhouse for the grandkids! He is so invaluable in any situation.

When I heard about this contest I knew I had to tell you about my husband! He LOVES to work hard and I know he is doing it all for me and our 3 children. I would love for everyone to know how much I appreciate him!

    Eric Owens
Eric is the hardest working man I’ve ever known. He works from sun up til sun down as a contractor to support his family. He was a single father raising two girls for 10 years. He takes care of his elderly father’s yard and car and helps out relatives and friends whenever they need anything. He helps out with dinner, laundry and grocery shopping and is always very loving and generous. He is dad to two girls, 12 and 15 and a son, 11 months. He always gives 110 percent and has gone without so his children could have whatever they needed. He is the definition of a hard working man.

My husband Tony is one of the hardest working men I know.  He gets up early, works all day long and when he gets home he still plays with our two boys and makes sure he sees every soccer practice and game.  Swim lessons and baseball practices and games.  He is such an amazing husband and father.  I could not ask for a better man.  His birthday is coming up next week on the 15th and I want him to have the best birthday ever!  I love and appreciate this man so much!  That’s why I think Tony deserves to win this contest.  :)

    Tony Cahoon
My husband should be nominated for hard working man contest, because he is the hardest worker I know.  He is a mechanic who is so dedicated to his job but not only at work but his role as husband and father.  He commutes three hours a day so that i can stay home with kids and he provides a beautiful loving house for us.  He never complains about drive or work, he just gets it done.  He tells me that the hard work just makes him stronger.  He shows up to work even if he is sick because he knows he is depended on, he has not been able to take a vacation or a day off all year and he says he is just blessed to have a job and be busy.  He shows up every night after work with loving arms ready to help me in anyway, and just takes the whole night to spend quality time with us. He is my hard working man!

    Eric Turner
Not only is Eric the most incredible father and husband, but he is working relentlessly on our home while having a full time job. Our refrigerator was leaking and when he began repairing to the floor and surrounding walls, he noticed the electrical was out of code. Feeling like we were on a hidden camera episode of something from HGTV, the somewhat simple damage repair turned into a full-fledged remodel. We have a 1.5 year old daughter and are expecting our second in 5 weeks! Yikes!! Eric is the hardest working man/ father/ husband I know. Day after day, upon returning home from his full time job at Columbia College, he continues to work on the house to make it into what we initially dreamt up for this home when we purchased it. I’m so thankful for his devotion to our family and to our home.

My Husband, David Smith should without a doubt be the winner of the hard working man contest. He works over 10 hours a day with his business, David Smith Construction and is loved by all is clients. He’s such a hard worker and always does an exceptional job on all of his projects, no matter how big or small.

He’s also the most amazing father and husband. As a father of two small boys, you can bet he’s always running around and playing hard with them. He takes them camping, fishing, plays catch, you name it!

He couldn’t be more busy, yet he finds time to help me, his wife with my huge “Honey Do List.” As a business owner as well, I’m always calling him to fix things for me or build things for me. He just recently remodeled my new store!

I could truly go on for days about how hard my husband works! He’s such an amazing man and loves his family so much. I’ve known him since kindergarden and he’s always been a hard worker and all around great person.

    Jerrod Stefl
Hello, I would like to nominate my boyfriend Jerrod Stefl for hard working man of the week, he is the bravest, hardest working man I know, he works for Stanislaus Hotshots and they are currently on their third round here on the Rim fire working hard to keep our town safe from this disasterous fire. Along with his crew they risk life and limb all summer long, sacrificing time with family to save homes and communities and wildlife, with very little sleep and little to no showers, sleeping in the dirt for weeks on end all with no complaints because its a job he loves. This is why I would like to nominate Jerrod for hard working man of the week.

    Dear Big Joe and Bridgette,

I would like to nominate my dad Lawrence Pries for Hard Working Man of the Week. My dad has always been there for his family. Whenever my sister and I need anything whether it was someone to talk to about real life situations or the manly stuff such as fixing our cars, he was there to lend a helping hand. My husband and I just recently bought our first home and remodeled it. My dad would work 14 hour days and as soon as he got off work, he would come to our home and help us with anything we needed. Growing up anytime something broke we went straight to dad to help fix it. He could fix anything!! He is like Bob the Builder . He never complains and he is so supportive in anything I do. My dad deserves to be the Hard Working Man, because in my eyes he never stops working. He is a great father and newly grandfather of his first grandbaby. He lights up the room, and always has something funny to say. He is absolutely amazing and I couldn’t ask for a better dad. He means the !
    world to us.

    Jeremy Wagoner
I want to nominate my husband Jeremy because he is the hardest working man I know. I have recently started school which takes up almost all of my time so not only does he work full-time but then he comes home and has to do the cooking and cleaning and everything else I do not have time for anymore. On the weekends when we have our two year old niece he’s the one who takes care of her including diaper duty. In his spare time he helps his grandparents out with all the things that they can no longer do. He also helps out at our church every week. He is a wonderful husband, grandson, and uncle and everyone knows that he is always there when you need him and that’s why I am nominating my hard working man.

I would like to nominate my wonderful husband James Williams.  He has been a hardworking man since I met him.  During the early years of our marriage he held down a full time and 2 part time jobs so I could stay home with our three children.  He gives 110% at every job according to his employers!  He requires it of himself to give the most to his work and family.  After work he comes home and works in the yard or does a job on the “honey do” list.  Then when it gets dark he works on starting his own business so he can pay for the kids’ colleges.  There is no harder working man!

My husband Dusty works so hard to take care of his family. If he is not at his full time job he is weed eating, cutting wood or just helping someone else. I don’t think he knows how much he is appreciated by his family and friends. He never complains about having to do for others but only wishes he could do more. I am proud to call Dusty my husband.

I am nominating my husband James a.k.a Jimbob as the hard working man for my family because ever since we have got together and started a family he has supported our family 100%. He has never left us without and does not ever plan to. He has worked the same job for 4 years and it may not be the most pleasant one but what is?! He loves his family and would do anything for it. I feel that he does not get recognized enough for his loving and caring heart and I would like him to know that I recognize. Thank you for everything you have done for our family I don’t know what I would do without you. Love his wife Candice

I would like to nominate my son in law, Chuck Camacho.  He is a very hard working  father of 3  and  also gives  his time to my paralyzed husband Ken , working with him for the past year for at least 2 days a week .  When he first started, Ken couldn’t walk,  or do much  of anything on his own.   Chuck  works with Ken , doing multiple exercises , helping him to walk and working with him to do simple things, like ride to the mailbox to get the mail.  Chuck also will  find extra time to help around the house and yard.  My husband has progressed so much since he began working with him, I don’t know what we would do without him.  He has been such a blessing and we love him dearly.

    Jon Malone
To say my loving husband of 34 years is a hard worker would be an understatement! He is skilled at building, plumbing, electrical, mechanics, painting (but he does not like to paint), landscaping, tractor work, roofing, woodworking, concrete work, and even helps clean the house. He has always provided for his family. Never asking and always giving. He has worked for California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for the past 32 years. His birthday is this Thursday (September 19th), and he RETIRES this Friday, September 20! I’m sure he will continue to work even after retirement as he never slows down. He taught his children that hard work pays off and to always do your best which is a virtue lost in our youth of today. He is a role model, a great person and so deserving.

    HAPPY RETIREMENT JON….I LOVE YOU!

    Roger Chase JR
My husband should be Hard Working Man because he works a full time job as a mechanic at mother lode motors and then most days and on his weekends puts in another 12 hours or more doing side jobs and helping his mom and dad and his brother or any other family or friend that asks him for his help. He just the nicest sweetest man anyone can ever meet or have the pleasure to know. No matter how tired he is he always there if someone needs him. He is a full time devoted father and husband even with his work and busy after work schedule he still makes time to help me around the house and help our 11 year old son with projects and building a jeep together and with his homework and he still manages to find the time to work on our house and yard that we just moved into about six months ago. There is nothing he wouldn’t do to provide and take care of his family. He works very hard and takes wonderful care of his family. He watches our son and gets him up for school when I work my twel!
ve hour shifts at the hospital but recently I got injured and as scared as I am about bills and money and things being okay he always knows what to do and say  to make everything okay. He has been working everynight from five o’clock to the late hours doing extra side jobs to make sure our family is provided for right now because of my injury and not being able to work. As bad as I feel about it he never makes me feel bad about not being able to work right now and he always knows how to make us feel like were the most important people on earth to him. He works very hard as a mechanic as a father, as a husband, and just as a wonderful man. No matter how busy his work and after work schedule is he always makes time for his family. I couldn’t find a better man to be married to or be the father of my child. I wish everyday that he knew how grateful I am to have him in my life I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful caring person and have a family with him.
That’s why he should be hard working man

    Hello,
I would like to nominate my father, Rich Moody  for the KKBN  Hard Working Man contest. While he holds down a job at Columbia College as the HVAC, (Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning) He also does many other jobs around the campus to help where ever he can and often times will stay later than necessary. My dad also helps out neighbors and friends on the weekends doing odd jobs and construction work. Sometimes he’ll go and help out others even after his day job is over, not returning home until after dark. He has also helped in major ways building five different sets for the plays at my high school, Summerville. Recently, he stepped in, in a time of need at Stage 3 Theatre building the beautiful spiral staircase currently being used in ‘A Streetcar Named Desire.’ Between all of his after-day-job work and weekend projects, he always finds time to spend with my mom and I. Together we all go horseback riding in the mountains and in the Red Hills. He finds time to take us on trips to Disneyland, always comes all my shows, whether they are at my high school or at Stage 3, and drives me back and forth from my shows as well.  He also helps me with my math and science homework every night. I can always count on him being there for me when ever I need him. He is truly the hardest working man I know in more ways than one and I love him.
    Thank you,

Reason why you think this person should be nominated for the KKBN Hard Working Man Award
I would like to nominate my husband Troy Dambacher of Sonora for hard working man. He is truly a hard working man at work and home. Troy works at Folsom prison as an operator, so he sometimes stays gone all week or dives everyday. He’s not  just on equipment all day, he gets down in the dirt with his crew, to shovel, lay pipe, or what ever needs to be done. Then he comes home and works on our new house. He’s a wonderful father and husband who provides for his family and truly deserves this recognition for a hard working man!

    Papa” J. D. Hathcock
We nominate our Papa Jay, because he is, hands down, the hardest working man we know. At 75, he is still working maintenance almost full time at World Mark Resort in Angels Camp. In addition, he does full time handy work around the house, such as mowing the lawn, trimming trees, and climbing on-top of the house to clean the gutters. He also helps himself onto the roof during the Holidays. Come Halloween and Christmas, our house shines. He loves the reactions of the neighborhood kids when they see the lights and decorations. All he asks for in return are simply Pepsi’s, Twinkies and Cheetos’s. He loves our animals and they show love in return by greeting him by the door when he gets home. He always has a hug and a smile for his girls and we love him so very much.

    All our love,

    Hi Big Joe & Bridgette,
My brothers & I would like to nominate our dad, Glenn Walker, for your Hard Working Man Award!! Ever since we can remember, our dad has been the hardest working man in our lives. He devotes all of his time & energy to his family, even after a 12 to 14 hour day at the Rock Quarry. His dedication to his family (wife, children, nieces & nephews) has always been his number one priority.
I like to believe my father raised us to be hard workers in school, work, and personal relationships. His love for his family is undeniably his best feature. From hunting and fishing, to family trips or vacations, our dad puts in 110%! He makes us laugh with his hysterical personality, helps anyone and everyone in his life, and truly does have the biggest heart.
Please pick our dad, our hero, for your Hard Working Man this week!!

Thank you from all of his kids,
    Nick & Jake Walker

    Paul Skifter
Paul deserves a hard working man nomination every week, but especially this week. He is a CalFire firefighter at the Standard Station in Sonora and is currently out on a strike team protecting our community from the raging fires. Paul is familiar to sacrificing his personal time as he is a United States Naval Veteran that has completed two world tours and is now back doing what he loves, fighing fires in his local community. This week though he’s making a huge sacrifice being away for our first wedding anniversary. Paul is so hard working that even on his few and far between days off he helps his father-in-law with his ceramic tile business and offers a helping hand on his friend’s cattle ranches.  He’s a big guy with a big heart. He’s my hard working man each and every day.

    Garrett Righele

Garrett is the most hard working, helpful and generous 20 year old around. For the last four months, he has been remodeling my home…everything from electrical to landscaping, to building decks. When he’s not busy working on my house, he could likely be found doing tractor work for a neighbor, refinishing a friend’s porch, jump starting a stranger’s car or taking his little brother out to the field to play baseball. Garrett has the biggest heart and so very much deserves to win the Hard Working Man contest.

I would like to nominate one of the most resilient and reliable men I know, Robert James Patrick. This man is a true “hard working man”. He works in some deplorable conditions and yet still gets his jobs done with a smile on his face. He is always willing to lend a helping hand to anybody in need. Even those that don’t know they’re in need. When hes not at his day job, you will find him with a wrench or hammer in his hand helping family, friends, or neighbors, expecting nothing in return but a thank you and a hand shake. He has 2 children, Arianna 9, and RJ, named after his daddy, 5. He raises them as a single father and they never go without anything they need, and he’s wrapped around their little fingers, so everything they want as well. He is a family man, always spending time with his kids and taking trips to relatives houses for his kids to spend time with the rest of their family. And a very very hard worker, never saying “no” to any job, or failing to finish any task hes started.. At 33 year’s old he can still work circles around any teenager or adult. Please award this man with the “Hard Working Man” award, as he is one of the most deserving men I know. And even if you dont give him the reward, feel free to say hi anytime you see Robert walking in town or through a store. One sincere handshake, and you will have a lifelong friend in Robert Patrick. Thank you for your consideration. I know that I will be listening on Wednesday morning for his name.

    HI,
I am nominating my husband as the hardest working man I know. We recently moved into a new (old) home and my husband, Tom, at 86 years old, has been breaking his back making improvements all around our property just for me! He put in a new lawn, and can be seen in the photo hand-picking the crabgrass; built a new ramp and railing that was needed to extend the deck; and he built me a raised garden that is protected from gophers. In what little spare time he has left from making me happy he loves to paint (shown working on Peter Pan & Wendy).
We’ve been married for 35 years, and he’s taken great care of me. It was the least I could do to nominate him as the “Hardest Working Man,” as he so deserves.

    Vic Moreno
I am nominating my husband, Vic Moreno, for KKBN’s Hard Working Man Contest because he truly is a man who can do it all. He run’s his own painting business, is a huge help at home even being dog tired after a long day and manages to help with charities that support children and sick people. Vic has a huge heart and puts it into everything he does, from the simple things like helping me with all of the outdoor chores, laundry, dishes and cooking to playing and caring for our two beautiful children Roman (4) and Mila (1). I don’t know where he gets the energy to do what he does, but I hope he knows how much it means to me and how blessed we are to have him!

I want to nominate my coworker and friend Doug Rasmussen for the Hard Working Man contest. Doug is a 73 year old hard working person. Not only does he work 5 days a week at Quyle Kilns Pottery company he works at the Historic Murphys Hotel part time. He goes above and beyond the call of duty. He repairs doors, windows, makes clay, and cleans everything. My day would not be complete without is smiling face helping me get through my day. I couldn’t do it without him. Thank you.

We would like to nominated our father Scott McArthur for your KKBN hard working man contest. He is a hard working father who has always provided for our family, owning this own company McArthur Construction. He has always put in countless hours in at work, even with his physical ailments. He has had two back surgeries and during this past year he has been diagnosed with a really bad case of Rheumatoid Arthritis, especially in his knees. The arthritis gives his excruciating pain with every step. He has to wear durable braces on his legs at all times. Being his own boss, he doesn’t get sick days. He can not afford to go days without working, especially with the economic times.

He is not only a hard working  father but a loving grandfather to his only grandson Colt.   Even after a long day at work, he is never too tired to play or spend time with Colt. It’s hard for my sister and I to see our father go through these hard times of trying to keep his business afloat. But he always keeps a smile on his face and pushes through whatever obstacle is thrown his way.

We feel that nominating him for this award would be a great way to show him how much we love him and appreciate all that he has done for our family. We have always looked up to our daddy and he has played a large role in the women we are today. His integrity, work ethics, and perseverance makes him a perfect candidate for your hard working man contest.

Lee Miller is one of my 3 sons and they are all hardworking but  Lee seems to just give, give, and give of himself to his wife and 3 daughters.   He  gets up early and goes to  bed late. He  an add on room for his oldest daughter Heidi last year.  and thus year adding a room for Sierra and also extending there living room.   At one point in his life he had to be mom and dad to his girls and  did a darn good job of it.  He has the patience of job, he’s a great son and if I need anything he ‘s always there to sacrifice his time.  Not many young men and fathers like Lee around anymore..

Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Hard Working Man Winner!! Isaac Rushdoony

I would like to nominate a very special man as the next hard working man of the Motherlode. He is my nephew Isaac Rushdoony.

Isaac Rushdoony is not only an exceptional person but a hard working, multitasking man.  He risks his life for all of us in the Motherlode as a captain at the Valley Springs state fire station and has worked at many other fire stations in the area. He is raising three children with another due in a few weeks; he helps his extended family, is restoring his great grandfather’s car, and cares for his pomegranate orchards. In his spare time Isaac is remodeling the Vallecito home his grandfather once lived in. He has redone the inside, the back yard, and has built a gazebo and bar area where he entertains friends and the extended family.  If a tree falls on the property Isaac builds something. Isaac still manages to host large family get togethers and spend quality time with his family. He has even undertaken helping a teenage cousin. Isaac is someone who is constantly working and improving life for his family and those around him.

I am very proud of Isaac, his generosity, his faithfulness to our family traditions and his work as a fireman. Isaac an asset to not only his family but his community, the Motherlode, the state of California and his country. He is the kind of man who is a blessing now and gives me hope for the future.  To me he is the definition of a Hard Working Man.
