My husband, Ryan, is a hard working man. He works the graveyard shift at Chicken Ranch. When he comes home, he plays with our 1 year old son and 4 month old daughter. He’s always on the go. He never a stops. He’s always helping people. Whether it be stacking and splitting wood or working on a car. He has a heart of gold. He is truly a hard working man along with a family man.

I want to nominate my boyfriend Garrett Jones for hard working man of the month. He has been with the Forest Service for four years straight on crew 41 in Groveland. This past summer he has worked over 800 hours of over time alone out on wild land fires. I have watched him travel From Idaho to Montana back to California for the Rim Fire in our own backyard. From August 19 all the way to November 16  he was out on the Rim fire, first contributing to fighting the flames then spent 6-8 weeks working 12-14 hour shifts doing Rim Fire clean up and Rehab to get out beautiful forest back on track. On top of all the physical labor he managed to summon up more energy to make sure that our home is taken care of. I would come home from work or school to a home made dinner and a clean living room. If that doesn’t sound like one of the hardest working men then I don’t know who does ;) I hope your consider Garrett Jones for Hard working man of the week!!

    Thank you,

Hi Big Joe and Bridget, my name is Michele Parsons, daughter of Ray Parsons and my mom, my sister and I would like to nominate him for the hard working man award. My dad has been a firefighter for 30 years now, he is currently working in Don Pedro at the Blanchard fire station and is very well known in the community. He loves his job and often works 72 hour shifts. He is always helping others with anything they need, while also helping his family. My dad has always been the go to man when anyone needs something fixed he can always fix it, and won’t quit until its fixed, in the picture above (my dad is on the right) he is helping fix a truck. My dad has always been my rock and has helped support me in everything i do, my schooling, my sports, no matter what it is i know he will always be there, and i want to do something to appreciate him for everything he does.

    Justin Ramos
I met my hard working man 10 months ago. Justin is a cabinet maker by day, and by night he is a jack of many trades. He starts his day at 5am, and before he does anything that morning, he tells me that he loves me.

When he gets home from working a long day, he gets right to work at home. He built me a whole new fence and landscaped the courtyard of my house. Whenever anything breaks and I mean anything, he can fix it. My washing machine, my electrical gadgets, my oven thingy mabob, anything. Along with being a hard working man, he is also a hard working dad.

He is a single dad to a four year old little girl. He is always there for her, and he is showing her early on how to be a good handy woman. She helps him when he’s building stuff, holding the tools for him, and cleaning up the garage as he goes. She often tells me with a power tool in hand, “I’m a good fixer, like my dad.” In addition to being physically hard working, he is mentally hard working as well.

He is always thinking of ways to be the best boyfriend I could ask for. He definitely goes above and beyond in this category. He tells me how much he appreciates me, and everything I do on a daily basis. He says as I’m leaving the garage, “Hey. I have to talk to you about something important.” As he pulls me close he asks, “Have I told you that I love you today?” I never feel unappreciated. He is very open, and we can tell each other anything. He is always working on his communication skills, and helping me to communicate and open up as well, since this isn’t my strong suit.

On Sunday when I am cleaning the house, he always helps me. Often doing a better job than I do. Sometimes when I come home from work, the kitchen is clean and he has BBQed something delicious for me. He is an expert BBQer. He takes such good care of me. I feel that it’s very hard to find someone that is hard working at work and at home and he does both perfectly. Everyday I am with him feels like I live in a romantic comedy, and he is my Ryan Gosling.

Justin works hard at every aspect of his life, which in turn puts a lot of pressure on him to be perfect. He is definitely perfect in my eyes. I couldn’t ask for a better hard working man!!!

    David Hemm
I would like to nominate my husband David Hemm as a candidate for your Hard Working Man Contest. David is one of the hardest working people I have ever met and does his best to provide for me and our 3 year old daughter. He works for Fritz Hummer Trucking in Oakdale Ca where he hauls cows. This man enjoys his job so much and actually looks forward to going to work everyday. His job requires him to drive endless hours up and down Northern California and there are times he is gone for days on end,but he always manages to keep a smile on his face and put in a 110% even when he extremely tired. Being a cattle hauler is different than most truck driving jobs because it requires a specific and special amount of skill, patience and understanding. David has been around the country setting all his life so working with livestock is something that comes natural to him. His work hours may be long but he always makes time for his family when he is home. He puts in so much time and energy !
into his work that it allows me to stay home and be a stay at home for our daughter. He is the perfect person for this award and I hope you consider him a winner for this contest because he already is one in my book!

  • hwm111214I want to nominate MY Hard working man Paul Kezis.

The reason he should be the hard working man of the week is because:  he works so hard every day.  He runs a welding and a horse shoeing busness as well as lots of volunteer work at the church that we go to.  He takes very little time for him self, he works from dusk till dawn atleast 6 days aweek. I love him very much and all he wants in life is to make me (his wife) happy. If he had his way I would not be working but with the cost of living these days we both have to work.  Please consider nominating Paul as the hard working man of the week.

    Thank You so much,

    Lori Kezis.

Hi Big Joe & Bridget HERE IS YOUR HARDWORKING MAN!

Dearest Big Joe & Bridget, (first-on a side note I want to thank you for making every day a great day.  I start my morning commute off with you guys Monday through Friday and I listen to you all morning and then I keep it on kkbn all day while I’m working in my pickup.  You make me laugh and I just love you guys! So thank you thank you!  I want to meet you two someday!)  Ok here is the story of my hard workin’ man….  My husband is the hardest working man I know.  His name is Scott Pope and we live in Oakdale.  We recently became parents to a handsome baby boy and I can’t help but to hope that our boy turns out even half as great as his father.  My husband has an absolute heart of gold.  He is MAGNETIC.  People who know him want to know more about him and people that don’t know him always find a way to meet him.  He wakes up everyday looking to better himself, for his family, for his friends and even those he hasn’t met.  He lives his life trying to make my life and our son’s the very best.  He has overcome many obstacles through the years and yet he manages to get up every morning at 3 am to head to the gym to work out like a savage.  He is the strongest man I’ve ever met-he always has spectators and “fans” watching his freakish strength in action.  He is multidimensional; hardworking in everything he does- This man can can cuddle babies better than most mothers, he can dig up your entire septic system and fix the dang thing faster than any professional, he cooks some wicked good BBQ, he can diagnose and repair any vehicle issue, he cleans the house from floor to ceiling when I need help, he does laundry like a pro, he’s a gifted athlete, he is a wonderful woodworker and makes some very beautiful things, he drives me everywhere we go…it’s no joke, there’s nothing this man can’t do PERFECTLY.  He works so hard at being the world’s best husband and father there’s no way I could let another week go by without him being recognized.  There’s something to say about a man who makes it a point to crack his wife up with laughter SO HARD she cries…ALMOST DAILY!  He makes my life the best life, every minute of everyday. I want to thank him for everything he does for myself, our son, our friends and family.  He is my hardworking hero and my soulmate:)

We would like to nominate our papa Darren Neill. He works long night at Deistel Turkey Ranch and does side job all around town. Even though his schedule is filled with work, he always makes time for his beautiful family. Whenever a person sees him they can expect to be greeted with a smile. He is always quick to stop what he is doing and lend a helping hand to someone when they are in need. He loves to be a ‘side line’ coach and cheer on the team no matter the sport.

My husband is the most dedicated man I have ever met. He is a concrete pump operator, and begins his day at 5 in the morning. Even when he gets home, he jumps right in to help me with our three daughters’ various activities, and still helps out with house work. Sometimes he even works through the weekend delivering wood, and he does this all with a smile on his face and love in his heart. He deserves to be KKBN’s next Hard Working Man!

    Hi,

I wanted to nominate my very hard working man. His name is Joshua Rogers. He works 6-7 days a week to take care of me (his wife) and our 8 month old baby girl. He is a firefighter with Cal Fire and has worked for them for six years. On his days off he does tile for Lasiter Tile. I am always expressing to him how thankful I am for him not only because he is such a hard worker but a wonderful father and husband. He makes sure to spend as much time with us any time he isn’t working. He truly is a man of integrity, loving and kind. Any time I try and tell him how much we appreciate what he does he simply replies “I am just doing what I need to do for my family”. I wanted to find a way to say thank you.

Daniel is not only a hard working man, he is also a hard working husband and father! We have 3 children and Daniel is a very involved dad. He likes to take our 2 boys in his roll-off truck and he has so enjoyed having a new baby girl!

Daniel works hard for us all day and still makes the time to help his family. He just finished helping his parents on their addition to their house and his in-laws with their playhouse for the grandkids! He is so invaluable in any situation.

Eric is the hardest working man I’ve ever known. He works from sun up til sun down as a contractor to support his family. He was a single father raising two girls for 10 years. He takes care of his elderly father’s yard and car and helps out relatives and friends whenever they need anything. He helps out with dinner, laundry and grocery shopping and is always very loving and generous. He is dad to two girls, 12 and 15 and a son, 11 months. He always gives 110 percent and has gone without so his children could have whatever they needed. He is the definition of a hard working man.

My husband should be nominated for hard working man contest, because he is the hardest worker I know.  He is a mechanic who is so dedicated to his job but not only at work but his role as husband and father.  He commutes three hours a day so that i can stay home with kids and he provides a beautiful loving house for us.  He never complains about drive or work, he just gets it done.  He tells me that the hard work just makes him stronger.  He shows up to work even if he is sick because he knows he is depended on, he has not been able to take a vacation or a day off all year and he says he is just blessed to have a job and be busy.  He shows up every night after work with loving arms ready to help me in anyway, and just takes the whole night to spend quality time with us. Eric Turner
Not only is Eric the most incredible father and husband, but he is working relentlessly on our home while having a full time job. Our refrigerator was leaking and when he began repairing to the floor and surrounding walls, he noticed the electrical was out of code. Feeling like we were on a hidden camera episode of something from HGTV, the somewhat simple damage repair turned into a full-fledged remodel. We have a 1.5 year old daughter and are expecting our second in 5 weeks! Yikes!! Eric is the hardest working man/ father/ husband I know. Day after day, upon returning home from his full time job at Columbia College, he continues to work on the house to make it into what we initially dreamt up for this home when we purchased it. I’m so thankful for his devotion to our family and to our home.

My Husband, David Smith should without a doubt be the winner of the hard working man contest. He works over 10 hours a day with his business, David Smith Construction and is loved by all is clients. He’s such a hard worker and always does an exceptional job on all of his projects, no matter how big or small.

He’s also the most amazing father and husband. As a father of two small boys, you can bet he’s always running around and playing hard with them. He takes them camping, fishing, plays catch, you name it!

He couldn’t be more busy, yet he finds time to help me, his wife with my huge “Honey Do List.” As a business owner as well, I’m always calling him to fix things for me or build things for me. He just recently remodeled my new store!

I could truly go on for days about how hard my husband works! He’s such an amazing man and loves his family so much. I’ve known him since kindergarden and he’s always been a hard worker and all around great person.

Hello, I would like to nominate my boyfriend Jerrod Stefl for hard working man of the week, he is the bravest, hardest working man I know, he works for Stanislaus Hotshots and they are currently on their third round here on the Rim fire working hard to keep our town safe from this disasterous fire. Along with his crew they risk life and limb all summer long, sacrificing time with family to save homes and communities and wildlife, with very little sleep and little to no showers, sleeping in the dirt for weeks on end all with no complaints because its a job he loves. This is why I would like to nominate Jerrod for hard working man of the week.

    Dear Big Joe and Bridgette,

I would like to nominate my dad Lawrence Pries for Hard Working Man of the Week. My dad has always been there for his family. Whenever my sister and I need anything whether it was someone to talk to about real life situations or the manly stuff such as fixing our cars, he was there to lend a helping hand. My husband and I just recently bought our first home and remodeled it. My dad would work 14 hour days and as soon as he got off work, he would come to our home and help us with anything we needed. Growing up anytime something broke we went straight to dad to help fix it. He could fix anything!! He is like Bob the Builder . He never complains and he is so supportive in anything I do. My dad deserves to be the Hard Working Man, because in my eyes he never stops working. He is a great father and newly grandfather of his first grandbaby. He lights up the room, and always has something funny to say. He is absolutely amazing and I couldn’t ask for a better dad. He means the !
    world to us.

I have recently started school which takes up almost all of my time so not only does he work full-time but then he comes home and has to do the cooking and cleaning and everything else I do not have time for anymore. On the weekends when we have our two year old niece he’s the one who takes care of her including diaper duty. In his spare time he helps his grandparents out with all the things that they can no longer do. He also helps out at our church every week. He is a wonderful husband, grandson, and uncle and everyone knows that he is always there when you need him and that’s why I am nominating my hard working man.

I would like to nominate my son in law, Chuck Camacho.  He is a very hard working  father of 3  and  also gives  his time to my paralyzed husband Ken , working with him for the past year for at least 2 days a week .  When he first started, Ken couldn’t walk,  or do much  of anything on his own.   Chuck  works with Ken , doing multiple exercises , helping him to walk and working with him to do simple things, like ride to the mailbox to get the mail.  Chuck also will  find extra time to help around the house and yard.  My husband has progressed so much since he began working with him, I don’t know what we would do without him.  He has been such a blessing and we love him dearly.

    Jon Malone
To say my loving husband of 34 years is a hard worker would be an understatement! He is skilled at building, plumbing, electrical, mechanics, painting (but he does not like to paint), landscaping, tractor work, roofing, woodworking, concrete work, and even helps clean the house. He has always provided for his family. Never asking and always giving. He has worked for California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for the past 32 years. His birthday is this Thursday (September 19th), and he RETIRES this Friday, September 20! I’m sure he will continue to work even after retirement as he never slows down. He taught his children that hard work pays off and to always do your best which is a virtue lost in our youth of today. He is a role model, a great person and so deserving.

    HAPPY RETIREMENT JON….I LOVE YOU!
Vocational Carpentry Instructor, Sierra Conservation Center

Hi my name is Leslie Hinds and my husband, JJ Hinds, should win the KKBN Hard Working Man contest because he works crazy long hours, 65-85 hours a week, driving truck and loader for a local ag business.  He works hard so that I can finish college and to provide the best for our two boys.  He is the hardest working man I know.

My husband should be Hard Working Man because he works a full time job as a mechanic at mother lode motors and then most days and on his weekends puts in another 12 hours or more doing side jobs and helping his mom and dad and his brother or any other family or friend that asks him for his help. He just the nicest sweetest man anyone can ever meet or have the pleasure to know. No matter how tired he is he always there if someone needs him. He is a full time devoted father and husband even with his work and busy after work schedule he still makes time to help me around the house and help our 11 year old son with projects and building a jeep together and with his homework and he still manages to find the time to work on our house and yard that we just moved into about six months ago. There is nothing he wouldn’t do to provide and take care of his family. He works very hard and takes wonderful care of his family. He watches our son and gets him up for school when I work my twel!
ve hour shifts at the hospital but recently I got injured and as scared as I am about bills and money and things being okay he always knows what to do and say  to make everything okay. He has been working everynight from five o’clock to the late hours doing extra side jobs to make sure our family is provided for right now because of my injury and not being able to work. As bad as I feel about it he never makes me feel bad about not being able to work right now and he always knows how to make us feel like were the most important people on earth to him. He works very hard as a mechanic as a father, as a husband, and just as a wonderful man. No matter how busy his work and after work schedule is he always makes time for his family. I couldn’t find a better man to be married to or be the father of my child. I wish everyday that he knew how grateful I am to have him in my life I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful caring person and have a family with him.
That’s why he should be hard working man
    Thank You Rose Chase

    Hello,
I would like to nominate my father, Rich Moody  for the KKBN  Hard Working Man contest. While he holds down a job at Columbia College as the HVAC, (Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning) He also does many other jobs around the campus to help where ever he can and often times will stay later than necessary. My dad also helps out neighbors and friends on the weekends doing odd jobs and construction work. Sometimes he’ll go and help out others even after his day job is over, not returning home until after dark. He has also helped in major ways building five different sets for the plays at my high school, Summerville. Recently, he stepped in, in a time of need at Stage 3 Theatre building the beautiful spiral staircase currently being used in ‘A Streetcar Named Desire.’ Between all of his after-day-job work and weekend projects, he always finds time to spend with my mom and I. Together we all go horseback riding in the mountains and in the Red Hills. He finds time to take us on trips to Disneyland, always comes all my shows, whether they are at my high school or at Stage 3, and drives me back and forth from my shows as well.  He also helps me with my math and science homework every night. I can always count on him being there for me when ever I need him. He is truly the hardest working man I know in more ways than one and I love him.
    Thank you,
    Catelin Jean

    Troy Dambacher
Reason why you think this person should be nominated for the KKBN Hard Working Man Award
I would like to nominate my husband Troy Dambacher of Sonora for hard working man. He is truly a hard working man at work and home. Troy works at Folsom prison as an operator, so he sometimes stays gone all week or dives everyday. He’s not  just on equipment all day, he gets down in the dirt with his crew, to shovel, lay pipe, or what ever needs to be done. Then he comes home and works on our new house. He’s a wonderful father and husband who provides for his family and truly deserves this recognition for a hard working man!
    Thank you,
    Ginean Dambacher

    Papa” J. D. Hathcock
We nominate our Papa Jay, because he is, hands down, the hardest working man we know. At 75, he is still working maintenance almost full time at World Mark Resort in Angels Camp. In addition, he does full time handy work around the house, such as mowing the lawn, trimming trees, and climbing on-top of the house to clean the gutters. He also helps himself onto the roof during the Holidays. Come Halloween and Christmas, our house shines. He loves the reactions of the neighborhood kids when they see the lights and decorations. All he asks for in return are simply Pepsi’s, Twinkies and Cheetos’s. He loves our animals and they show love in return by greeting him by the door when he gets home. He always has a hug and a smile for his girls and we love him so very much.

    All our love,
    Barb, Kelly and Jessi

    Hi Big Joe & Bridgette,
My brothers & I would like to nominate our dad, Glenn Walker, for your Hard Working Man Award!! Ever since we can remember, our dad has been the hardest working man in our lives. He devotes all of his time & energy to his family, even after a 12 to 14 hour day at the Rock Quarry. His dedication to his family (wife, children, nieces & nephews) has always been his number one priority.
I like to believe my father raised us to be hard workers in school, work, and personal relationships. His love for his family is undeniably his best feature. From hunting and fishing, to family trips or vacations, our dad puts in 110%! He makes us laugh with his hysterical personality, helps anyone and everyone in his life, and truly does have the biggest heart.
Please pick our dad, our hero, for your Hard Working Man this week!!

Thank you from all of his kids,
    Nick & Jake Walker
    Andrew & Amanda Silva
(& his first grand baby on the way!)
