I would like to nominate my Hard Working Man for your contest. This is Justin Mata aka Bubba. He is the owner of No Mata What Handyman Services & he is the glue that keeps things rolling at home. He gets up early every morning & wakes me up with coffee to make sure that I don’t over sleep. He heads out to work by 6am & usually doesn’t return home until 7 or 8pm.
His day never stops there, as he has his projects in the garage & still manages to spend time with his family. Even on his days off, or vacation, I can’t get him to stop. We are always on the go, planning fun trips to take with the kids or helping a friend with something.
He also helps my dad with up keep on his 12 acre property & the little projects that need to be done around the house.
He is really amazing at anything that needs to be done, whether it’s working on the cars/dirtbikes/trucks or helping me with my sunflower garden. He is always designated the “Master Griller” so even at events, he is busy manning the Bar-B-Q!!
Bubba carries the weight of our family on his shoulders from morning to night & still works hard to make sure we all have what we need!! He is loved very much by his family, his friends & most of all, ME. It would be such an honor if you would select him as your contest winner.

I would like to nominate my father, Marty Meckler, for the Hard Working Man of the Week. My father is always on the lookout to help his friends and family. My father helps me personally with school work, and helps me work on my truck. He’s taught me more than what any class could about real life. He’s a mayson and handyman who is willing to do back breaking work for others. He’s the first one outside, no matter what the temperature, fixing things, picking fruit, splitting and stacking wood, feeding livestock, and working. He loves being apart of our lives, and supports the local Sonora FFA Chapter, Foothill 4-H, and Cubscouts whenever he can, if its taking pigs to fair, building pig pins for others, helping setup at fair, or helping setup for Cubscouts and their events, he’s always the first one there with his tools. He’s a great man, father, and husband. He’s helped many in a lot of ways, he does a lot more than what I could ever say, he’s a great amazing man. Anyone around him will learn from him, and will gain a great experience. He’s my superman, and that’s why I would like to nominate my father.
Hi, my name is Elizabeth Barley and my husband Mark Barley deserves the Hard Working Man Award!
Mark and I own Southern Comfort Express, where he puts in 50 plus hours a week to better our family. He also is a full time dad, taking care of our 3 girls (our youngest who is 9 months old, Lyla is pictured with daddy) while I am at work. He is a “Den Dad” for our oldest daughters Girl Scout troop along with helping out wherever he can when our daughters are playing t-ball. He is a wonderful husband and devoted dad, nobody can ask for a better Hard Working Man!
Thank you so much,
The KKBN Hard Working Man Contest is brought to you by our fine sponsors
I want to nominate my Husband for the Hard Working Man Contest. He is a firefighter for the Stanislaus Hotshots here in Sonora. He works very hard day in and day out. Sick and not feeling good he still goes to work. He works when it is 104 degrees, and he works when it is snowing outside. He is a permanent employees with the Forest Service. My husband and his crew risk their lives everyday during fire season to keep home, towns, and citizens safe. I admire how hard working he is. He is the most courageous brave man I know. Evan and his crew are headed to AZ to battle the blazes there. His name is Evan Patrick O’Shea. He is man to the top right. Thank you.
I am going to nominate all of the emergency personnel (Firefighters, US Forest Service, Law Enforcement, Search And Rescue, etc.) that are working on the RIM FIRE, for the winners of the Hard Working Man Contest. These brave men and women have been work day and night since August 17, 2013 trying to stop the progress of this fire. This county has shown their appreciation towards these people in numerous ways this past week. By giving these men and women this award will be just another way to show our gratitude.
