KKBN Goodie Award Winner (10/03/12)

Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Goodie Award Winner: Edna Bowcutt

Recently my sister in law got bucked off her horse on a ride in the Lyon’s Lake area and during the commotion to get back down the hill, lost her backpack containing her phone and some cash. Nobody involved even thought about it until  Edna Bowcutt made it her mission to find the owner of the backpack and its contents. After several phone calls, she finally reunited my family with their lost articles and she even included a “Get Well” card in the backpack! We need MORE people like Edna in our world!!

KKBN Goodie Award Winner(09/19/12)

Congratulations to this week’s Goodie:

To protect and serve is the motto of many law enforcement agencies. So many times we see such poor examples via the media of deputies who forget that is what they are paid to do.  Last month I was reminded that here locally we have officers who can protect and serve and show compassion doing their job. My name is Eddie Garris and I am an employee at Twain Harte Pharmacy. Unfortunately we had a shoplifter who had stolen compressed air to get high on.  Fellow employees had witnessed this person and kept watch as he went into the trees. at this time Deputy Carl Benson was driving through the parking lot so he was flagged down and made aware of the situation. After about 10 minutes being out of sight the deputy brought the man out of the trees to his car. I had just gotten off work and as the deputy was parked next to my car and witnessed the situation first hand.  I don’t want to reveal much as to what was said but deputy Carl was so considerate of this man who by now was under distress from the effects of inhaling unknown chemical. I talked with the man and expressed concern for his habit. Carl made the statement that a lot of people care about you and don’t want to see you hurt yourself. I know I am not conveying exactly why I am nominating Deputy Carl Benson but just the compassion and concern he showed and none of the arrogance that you see on Cops or other news stories about rogue cops beating people up was refreshing. You can see he treats others with respect and dignity. Thank you for considering Deputy Carl Benson.
Sincerely Eddie Garris =

KKBN Goodie Award (09/12/12)

Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Goodie of The Week: Paul Kezis

We would to nominate a very special person for the KKBN Goodie of the week award….Paul the Horseshoer Kezis. He donates his time by taking care of our feet and never accepts a nickle although we do see him eating a sandwich on occasion. He’s been a friend of the Ranch for several years now and was recently married which suprised us all!

KKBN Goodie Award (09/05/12)

I would like to nominate Ann Patel for the KKBN Goodie Award. She is the driving force behind many local events. and one of the Mother Lode’s unsung heroes who’s good deeds should not go unrecognized.  We need more people like her.   I think this Goodie Award is perfect for Ann Patel.
