Goodie Award (3/31/10)

Congratulations to this weeks Good Neighbor!

I would like to nominate my daughter Kaylynn Davis for the goody of the week award. Kaylynn is in the 6th grade at Copperopolis elementary. She is a blessing to have as a child and could not be any prouder of her. She brings in A’s and B’s on her report card and is always getting principles awards, honor roll, and student of the month awards to boot. She works hard on her grades and being a team member on her volleyball team and soon track.

She is a great helper at home as well. I never have to get on her about doing her chores or her homework. I can always count on Kaylynn to make me laugh till my tummy hurts or make me smile when I have had a bad day. Even tho she is 12 she has more heart then anyone i have ever known. She is always willing to go out of her way to help someone in need. I remember one time when we went to Modesto about 2 years ago. And we stopped at a gas station and there sat a homeless man on the curb with all he owned on his back. kaylynn looked over at me and asked me “Mom why does that man have a cart and stuff on his back and why does he look so sad?” I told her that the man was down on his luck and looked like he might be homeless. She said “Oh mom that’s sad and not right”. So she asked her daddy to go with her to talk to the gentleman. ray and Kaylynn came back to the car and kaylynn grabs her wallet and goes to the trunk and gets the brand new fleece blanket she was bugging me to buy her. And she tilts her lil head to the side and says “mommy can i give the man my new blanket”? “His is ratty and tired and dirty looking and this one will keep him nice and warm”. I looked at her and said ” Its your blanket peanut”. The guy would not except any money but was very very thankful for the blanket. I was so proud of her that day. All the years that her daddy and I have taught her about being a good person and not to be selfish was sinking into her head.

Kaylynn works her lil booty off academically and at home. I hope she knows how special she is to me and everyone she comes in contact with. So please consider Kaylynn for your goody of the week award because she deserves it. Thank you.

Congratulations to this weeks Good Neighbor!

Miss Glory Powell , a teacher with St. Patrick’s Pre School is this week’s GOODIE! Here’s the nomination letter:

I as so many moms at St.Patricks Pre School wish to tell you of a SPECIAL teacher. Her name is Glory Powel.
We leave our children for her tues, weds, and Thurs every week knowing that she will help them to become wonderful loving kind adults with her guidance.
She teaches them to love the places we live in by teaching them about mother nature. She teaches them to be patient when others dont understand you.She teaches them how to listen even when its oh so difficult. She teaches sharing even when they dont want too.
But most of all she teaches all of us what it means to be good parents and we all go to her at times and ask her questions about parenting The advise she gives is always so helpful. She always takes the time to smile and say hello.
One day there was a man outside the church he was trying to get into the church for a healing mass.He seems to be taking a little timegetting out of his car.Teacher Glory just walked up to him with a smile and asked” can I help you get into the church for mass?”
We all feel she is so wonderful and is such a great teacher for our children. Please consider her.

Goodie Award (3/17/10)

This week’s Good Neighbor was nominated more than any other nominee in the history of the KBBN Goodie Award! Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Goodie Award Winner, John Hard! Here’s the Nomination letters!

Goodie award
I just heard about your award and wanted to nominate a fellow employee at summerville hs…John Hard. He is a very good worker and goes out of his way to help everyone…even when it is not a part of his job. He always is happy to be at work, spends countless hours above and beyond doing little things to make our school a better place and when asked how he is doing he usually replies with something very positive like…”just living the dream!!!” Thanks for the consideration. Debbie Mager

goodie award

I nominate John Hard for the goodie award for tomorrow 1/12. It is his 50th birthday. He is a custodian at Summerville High School, and besides keeping our campus clean, he is always ready to help in any way with a smile on his face. He truly cares for the bears!

goodie award

Last night I attended the Acadec team’s fundraiser. It was a great event and the student athlete’s were able to raise over $3000 to help cover the kids’ expenses for this weekend’s State competition in Sacramento. I participated in the silent auction bidding and noticed that John Hard’s beautiful, framed original pencil drawing earned the most for the kids at $120. For the past few years John has been generously donating his framed artwork to various school and community events. He is a very talented yet humble man and I think he deserves to be honored with your Goodie award. I have taught here at Summerville High for 33 years, John was my student (back in 1978) and he now works at Summerville keeping our campus clean. Thank you for encouraging your listeners to acknowledge the good actions of our fellow Tuolumne county folks.

Goodie award for friday

Hey Big Joe. My name is Ed Holgerson and i would like to nominate John Hard for the goodie award. he is the unsung hero of Summerville High School. Last night(Tuesday March 9) John hand drew an amazing picture of the Klavey River Train Bridge and auctioned it off at the Academic Decathalon benifit dinner for their trip to the state compotition. His drawling brought in an astonishing 150 dollars for his 8×10 pencil drawling. setting his artistic genius aside, he is one of the head maintenence personel on our campus at Summerville. He enjoys his job and is very personable once you get to know him. He enjoys making jokes and talking with many of the students. He is truely the unsung hero of Summerville High School and I believe that he deserves to be the Goodie award winner of Friday March 12.

Goodie Award (3/10/10)

Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Goodie Award Winner, Ted! Here’s the Nomination letter

Warm Hearted
Hello there Bridgette! First off, I just want to say how much I love your
morning show with Big Joe, thank you for starting my mornings off good! I
wanted to point out, in these hard times, that there are still very kind
people out there in this town. I am an elderly lady and I had a door handle
brake off my car. I went down to Sonora Auto & Truck Dismantling and the
very kind owner, Ted, sold me a used handle at an affordable price and even
attached it back on my door at no extra cost. This kind of hospitality does
not come around to me every day and I just wanted Ted to be recognized for
his warm heart.
