Luke Bryan Makes Dreams Come True for 8-Year-Old Cancer Patient

Luke Bryan performed on the ‘CMA Country Christmas‘ event on Monday (Dec. 2), but that wasn’t all. The star incorporated Tatum Libbesmeier — a little girl afflicted with cancer — into the holiday special in multiple ways. Essentially, the kind-hearted singer made several dreams come true for the beautiful and brave child.

Bryan performed an intimate, private concert upon meeting Tatum and her family. The little girl also attended the holiday special (after getting her hair and nails done, of course). At the end of his first song, Bryan came off the stage to hug and kiss her — he even wore her bracelet while he sang ‘Run Run Rudolph!’

Little Tatum hails from Minnesota and suffers from retinoblastoma, which is a rare cancer of the eye, according to local station WDAY. Her family surprised her with a special trip to Nashville to meet Bryan during the taping.

Her parents said that for this Make-a-Wish fulfillment, Bryan went more than the extra mile. He gave the little girl a whole stash of goodies, including a license plate and boots, and added her name to one of his lyrics when he sang for her, which is incredibly sweet. He also gave the little girl a bus tour and they walked hand-in-hand back to her limo.

Are you dabbing away tears yet?

Scott Libbesmeier and his wife Lisa were blown away by how genuine the country superstar was, with Lisa saying, “Sometimes they say hi and that is it, but he went above and beyond, awesome.”

Indeed, Luke Bryan has a heart of gold and worked to make his meeting with Tatum as special as possible. The trip was redemptive for the family. “For four days we did not have cancer, do doctor bills, no doctors, just enjoy the moment, live the moment,” dad Scott remarked.
