Goodie Award (4/28/10)

Congratulations to this week’s Goodie!

I would like to nominate my mom Chere Villines for the goodie award. My mom is the mother to 4 kids & darn good at it. She bakes cookies for businesses in the community once a week & hand delivers them. She’s in the process of setting up a program to deliver food to the homeless with her church. My mom is a hard working mother, grandmother, daughter, wife, and friend. She’s always puting others before herself and for that, I think she deserves this award & much, much more. Thanks for your time & I hope you pick my mom.

Sincerely, Amy Ohlson

Goodie Award (4/21/10)

Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Goodie Award Winner, Ron Ahearn! Here’s the Nomination lette

There is an amazing man, quiet, sincere, humble and oh,so generous with his time and talents who I would like to nominate for the Goodie award.Ron Ahearn is probably the kindest person I have ever met and to say he is a friend makes me very proud! He has always been the first to reach out to help, will accept no compensation for all the work he does for others. Too many examples of his good deeds to mention except for one that makes him stand out in my mind. Ron has a friend who is in a hospital in San Francisco and has been for close to a year. Every Thurs morn he leaves his MiWuk home around 5A.M. to drive to the Bart station and then walks several blocks to the hospital where he sits by his friend until it is time to make the long trip back to the mountains. Somedays they talk, somedays just the fact that his friend can look over and see him sitting there is comfort enough. Our world is so much better because of people like Ron who give without reservation and to say he is a friend is truly a gift. His birthday is next week and this would be such a great way to say “thank you”

Goodie Award (4/7/10)

Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Goodie Award winner, Rick Croslin! Read the nomination letter below:

I am nominating my Husband, Rick Croslin for Goodie of the week award.
He is disabled but he still gives his time to not one but two local places.
Every tuesday he is down at the County Archives to do whatever task they may have for him to do. He has helped to keep the old and sometimes antique records in their place so anyone can find them. He also volunteers at The Interfaith Program each Thursday. He helps with the Mens Clothing and Showers for the Homeless or people in need. He is a precious man and I would like to see him chosen as Goodie of the Week. By the way, he grew up here in Sonora snd we were married 2 years ago and we moved here to share our retirement years.
