KKBN Pet Of The Week (05/31/11)
Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Pet Of The Week Winner! This is one special Kitty and his name is Andy
Attached is a picture of my nomination for Pet of the Week. This cat is a true Native Son of the Golden West: He is CFA Grand Premier, Regional Winner DBCat’s Andy Warcurl, a brown tabby & white American Curl.
American Curls are the only naturally occuring NATIVE California pedigreed cat. The original American Curl was a stray named Shulamith, with these unusally curled ears. It turned out that the curl-gene is dominant, and ALL American Curls can trace their ancestry back to Shulamith. She is Andy’s 3 times great-grandmother.
Andy is not only a show cat, but a lap cat, too: He wants to be with his people, whatever they are doing. He also likes to sleep with a person, which is nice on cold evenings, but a bit much when it is a hot night. Andy lives in Oakdale with his owners, Dianna & Bruce Clark.
KKBN Goodie Award (05/25/11)
Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Goodie Award Winner: Daniel Collins
I believe that my Father should be nominated for this award for his bravery and kindness. He always does what is right and doesn’t think twice about helping someone in need. He also was one of the by standards that helped the elderly woman get out of the burning vehicle on 108 in Twain Hart.
What this world needs is more people like my Dad.

Congratulations to the coolest dog in the Mother Lode! Meet FACE!
This is my dog, Face!! Face has a personality of a human, even though she is a pitbull & boxer mix. She is a very gentle & always says Hi to our guests!! She will be 10 years old in October this year. We have had her since she was 6 weeks old. Anyone that knows her, knows that she is one of a kind & loves her for it. She enjoys water more then anything else & has been known to clean up trash & debris out of the lake. She helps keep our lakes clean, as much as the rest of us. She also enjoys diving for rocks under the water, on occasion even scares me, because she’s been under too long!! Face is an amazing girl!!

Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Goodie Award Winner: Michael Gibson
We received a large number of nominees for Michael. Below are just a few.
Mr. Michael Gibson
Reason why you think this person should be nominated for the KKBN Goodie Award:
As the principal of Connections Academy for the Visual and Performing Arts, Mr. Gibson has given his heart and soul to his students. More than just a principal, he is a friend and a mentor. He treats his students with individual respect, helping them realize their strengths and encouraging their individual progress. As alumni from Connections, i can safely say, were it not for Mr. Gibson and the school he had made so wonderful, I would no be purusing the career I am today.

Mr Gibson has been a tremendous for my children while they were attending the Connections Performing arts Academy. He always had something positive to offer when they needed a helping hand and has literally gone above and beyond in his efforts to help all the students at Summerville High School.
Marcia Shumway
Michael Gibson is a man of integrity who is always concerned for childrens’ academic advancement. Even with the trouble that is going on at Summerville high School he continues to repeat the message to forget about him and focus on the children. He continues to worry that the students will not have the joyful end of year/graduation they deserve. Michael Gibson is a goodie as he works hard always to help children succeed.
