Goodie Award Winner (03/30/11)
Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Goodie Award Winner(s) Lloyd and Donna Douglass
Here’s the nomination letter:
A few weeks ago there was a post these friends of mine on facebook asking if we could find room in our homes for these “Highway Puppies”. There were questions about why these were called Highway Puppies. And when I asked, the response was that Lloyd was driving down the highway in the valley and saw a box with a little head popping out. So of course, knowing Lloyd, he turned around and looks to find a box of dogs! There were 9 puppies that someone had dumped along the highway.
Lloyd and Donna are amazing people. I would have told Lloyd that I didn’t want someone elses puppy’s poop in my house, OR would have figured that it was just a seen-before box full of garbage on the side of the road. But he didn’t and Donna didn’t say NO!
They are BOTH my HEROES! And the puppies too! (Not to mention that there was someone who wanted one of the pups so bad, they drove from the bay area to pick it up.) I wish there were more people like them in this world.

KKBN Pet Of The Week

Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Pet of the Week, Ty!
Hello here is my pooch Ty. He’s Australian Sheppard and is 11 years old as of this month. He loves playing in the snow very much. He hops around like a bunny rabbit. When it’s snowing he hates being in the house =)

Congratualtions to this week’s KKBN Goodie Award Winner! BILL CASSIDY Here’s the nomination letter:
I REALLY CAN’T THINK OF A REASON WHY HE SHOULDN’T BE NOMINATED. IF SOMEONE NEEDS MOVED BILL IS THE FIRST ONE THERE TO HELP AND FIND A TEAM TO MAKE SURE IT’S DONE RIGHT. IF A FAMILY IS WITHOUT HEAT HE WILL CHOP DOWN WOOD AND DELIVER IT SO THEY WILL BE WARM. BILL HAD AN ELDERLY NEIGHBOR WHO’S FAMILY LIVED FAR AWAY SO HE DROVE HER TO ALL HER APPOINTMENTS MADE SURE HER PERSCRIPTIONS WERE PICKED UP AND SHE HAD ADEQUATE GROCERIES TO MAKE IT THROUGH STORMS, ALL WITHOUT EXPECTING A THING. ALL THE KIDS AT OUR LOCAL SCHOOL CALL BILL PAPA BILL, HE HELPS KIDS WHO HAVE A HARD TIME WITH HOMEWORK AND IS ALWAYS THERE WHEN ONE OF HIS NINE GRANDKIDS HAVE A BASEBALL GAME. HE TAKES KIDS WHO DON’T HAVE A PAPA TO TEACH THEM FISH WHEN HE TAKES HIS OWN GRANDSONS. ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO HAVE EVER MET BILL CASSIDY KNOWS THEY ARE LOVED AND WILL BE TAKEN CARE OF IS AND WHEN THE TIME ARISES.

Congratulations to this week’s KKBN Pet Of The Week Award Winner! “Little Bit”
Spring is a time for new beginnings and Little Bit certainly attest to that. He, along with his brother and mother, were given to the Calaveras Humane Society at a recent event because the owner could no longer care for them. Paula Kimbark of Mountain Ranch, fell in love with this 10 week old cutie and was adopted by her and is now living the ‘good life’ with his new owner. Little Bit’s brother and mother were also adopted by a family from Valley Spring. A very happy beginning for all three. Welcome spring and welcome Little Bit.
