There is an amazing man, quiet, sincere, humble and oh,so generous with his time and talents who I would like to nominate for the Goodie award.Ron Ahearn is probably the kindest person I have ever met and to say he is a friend makes me very proud! He has always been the first to reach out to help, will accept no compensation for all the work he does for others. Too many examples of his good deeds to mention except for one that makes him stand out in my mind. Ron has a friend who is in a hospital in San Francisco and has been for close to a year. Every Thurs morn he leaves his MiWuk home around 5A.M. to drive to the Bart station and then walks several blocks to the hospital where he sits by his friend until it is time to make the long trip back to the mountains. Somedays they talk, somedays just the fact that his friend can look over and see him sitting there is comfort enough.Our world is so much better because of people like Ron who give without reservation and to say he is a friend is truly a gift. His birthday is next week and this would be such a great way to say “thank you”
