Goodie Award (3/31/10)

Congratulations to this weeks Good Neighbor!

I would like to nominate my daughter Kaylynn Davis for the goody of the week award. Kaylynn is in the 6th grade at Copperopolis elementary. She is a blessing to have as a child and could not be any prouder of her. She brings in A’s and B’s on her report card and is always getting principles awards, honor roll, and student of the month awards to boot. She works hard on her grades and being a team member on her volleyball team and soon track.

She is a great helper at home as well. I never have to get on her about doing her chores or her homework. I can always count on Kaylynn to make me laugh till my tummy hurts or make me smile when I have had a bad day. Even tho she is 12 she has more heart then anyone i have ever known. She is always willing to go out of her way to help someone in need. I remember one time when we went to Modesto about 2 years ago. And we stopped at a gas station and there sat a homeless man on the curb with all he owned on his back. kaylynn looked over at me and asked me “Mom why does that man have a cart and stuff on his back and why does he look so sad?” I told her that the man was down on his luck and looked like he might be homeless. She said “Oh mom that’s sad and not right”. So she asked her daddy to go with her to talk to the gentleman. ray and Kaylynn came back to the car and kaylynn grabs her wallet and goes to the trunk and gets the brand new fleece blanket she was bugging me to buy her. And she tilts her lil head to the side and says “mommy can i give the man my new blanket”? “His is ratty and tired and dirty looking and this one will keep him nice and warm”. I looked at her and said ” Its your blanket peanut”. The guy would not except any money but was very very thankful for the blanket. I was so proud of her that day. All the years that her daddy and I have taught her about being a good person and not to be selfish was sinking into her head.

Kaylynn works her lil booty off academically and at home. I hope she knows how special she is to me and everyone she comes in contact with. So please consider Kaylynn for your goody of the week award because she deserves it. Thank you.

Jess Davis

Bridgette In The Shower Video?

Monday morning this brown paper wrapped package was on my desk.  Inside was a memory card with a note that read “Bridgette Loves Peanut Butter In The Shower”.  Now of course being the upstanding gentleman, I posted here first.  We’ll tell Bridgette about the video on this mornings show.  Check out the video and be sure to listen starting at 5:30.  Please leave a comment and let me know…do you think this is Bridgette?  Have a Happy Tuesday!

Since Bridgette combined both food and movie making, here’s a bonus website link. http://www.movierecipes.net/ All those yummy dishes you see in the movies and wish you could eat, well now you can now make it at home!  I don’t think Bridgette’s recipe was included.

Goodie Award (3/24/10)

Congratulations to this weeks Good Neighbor!

Miss Glory Powell , a teacher with St. Patrick’s Pre School is this week’s GOODIE! Here’s the nomination letter:

I as so many moms at St.Patricks Pre School wish to tell you of a SPECIAL teacher. Her name is Glory Powel.
We leave our children for her tues, weds, and Thurs every week knowing that she will help them to become wonderful loving kind adults with her guidance.
She teaches them to love the places we live in by teaching them about mother nature. She teaches them to be patient when others dont understand you.She teaches them how to listen even when its oh so difficult. She teaches sharing even when they dont want too.
But most of all she teaches all of us what it means to be good parents and we all go to her at times and ask her questions about parenting The advise she gives is always so helpful. She always takes the time to smile and say hello.
One day there was a man outside the church he was trying to get into the church for a healing mass.He seems to be taking a little timegetting out of his car.Teacher Glory just walked up to him with a smile and asked” can I help you get into the church for mass?”
We all feel she is so wonderful and is such a great teacher for our children. Please consider her.
